Sky Goddess Rolling Sculpture - $N/A

This piece is about an Egyptian creation myth.

From a primordial “ocean” of nothingness, a consciousness (Atum), out of pure intention, began the process of creating what would eventually become the gods, humans, and all earthly life. This awakening produced breath, air (Shu); the air combined with the ocean’s moisture and became Tefnut. As consorts, they produced offspring, Nut and Geb. Nut was the starry sky, and Geb was the earth.

My view on the myth takes place when the father Shu steps in to separate the two, who, together, were indistinguishable. Air became the force that held the heavens in place. Nut and Geb now could only touch at feet and fingertips, but could lovingly gaze at one another. At that point, Nut was already carrying the five offspring to become the next generation. Isis, Osiris, Seth, Nepthys, Horus the Elder. They became the gods and parents of the human race, and were known as the Children of Disorder. Quarreling ensued, and continues.
